Ellen Helinski  Biography

Ellen Helinski earned her Masters Degree in Physical Therapy from Notre Dame College in Manchester, N.H. As a physical therapist she has had extensive training in Orthopedic Manual Therapy as well as pediatric and neurologic rehabilitation. She has practiced in a wide variety of settings including private practice, long term care, home health, inclusionary school settings and more.

Ellen has received extensive training in Integrative Manual Therapy under the direct mentoring of Dr. Sharon Weiselfish-Giammatteo. She has studied under Dr. Thomas Giammatteo and has gained advanced clinical skills in correction of biomechanical dysfunction. She has an expertise in Integrative Manual Therapy working with multiple patient populations, including orthopedic, geriatric, neurologic, pediatric, and sports medicine. Ellen has an expertise in Facial Palsy rehabilitation. She has organized and operated specialized programs in facial paralysis in multiple clinical settings. Currently, Ellen is pursuing her doctoral degree in Integrative Manual Therapy at Westbrook University. She is focusing her studies on ‘Multi-Systems Breakdown’ in the diabetic and pre-diabetic patient.

Ellen is the Academic Advisor for the Connecticut School of Integrative Manual Therapy (CSIMT). Her responsibilities include operations of The Mentor ship Program and student advising. She is teaching faculty for CSIMT and Dialogues in Contemporary Rehabilitation (DCR). Ellen has been instrumental in the development of the Integrative Manual Therapy Association (IMTA) and holds a seat on the executive board. Ellen works as a physical therapist and Integrative Manual Therapist at CenterIMT Boulder, Colorado.
