Sandy Burkart
Dr.
Sandy L. Burkart
is an orthopedic certified specialist in private
practice with the Palm Beach Institute of Sports Medicine and is a
teacher and consultant with Functional Rehabilitation Associates. His
work integrates the neuromechanical sciences with orthopedic physical
therapy and the Feldenkrais Method to create functionally based
evaluations and treatment protocols. He received his Physical Therapy
degree in 1967 from the University of Pennsylvania, his Ph.D. in
Anatomy from West Virginia University 1977, and his Feldenkrais
certification in 1991.
Dr.
Burkart is a recognized national and international speaker, having
delivered more then 300 workshops, presentations, and teleconferences
nationally and internationally on orthopedic and neurologic
rehabilitation, functional training and rehabilitation, manual therapy
and the theory and application of the Feldenkrais Method. Dr. Burkart
has been honored for his teaching excellence by the American Physical
Therapy Association section of Orthopedic Physical Therapy.
In the past ten years, Dr. Burkart has continued his education with more than 2000 hours of post-graduate education in orthopedic physical therapy, manual therapy, neurologic rehabilitation, and neuromuscular stabilization training. A complete resume may be found at www.functionalrehab.com
