Canine Rehabilitation

The goal of canine rehabilitation is to improve the lives of sick or injured dogs by combining veterinary knowledge and physical therapy techniques. A standard veterinary degree is merely an introduction to all that the canine rehabilitation field has to offer. Professionally, you will immediately benefit from our comprehensive continuing education studies that focus on canine rehabilitation.

Through The University of Tennessee’s Canine Rehabilitation Program, physical therapists, physical therapist assistants, veterinarians and veterinary technicians build upon their existing knowledge and skills in terms of caring for sick or injured canines. Courses highly emphasize canine anatomy in relation to rehabilitation. Students may also have the chance to practice certain techniques on their own dogs, provided that they obtain advanced clearance from their instructor.

Specialized knowledge and skills learned in our program can be applied right away. The demand for qualified professionals in canine rehabilitation grows as the awareness of the benefits grows. In addition to services provided to working canines in the military and law enforcement, dog owners oftentimes seek help for their companion animals. The licensed professional who elects to continue their education in the specialty of canine rehabilitation is immediately introduced to expanding career opportunities.

The Canine Rehabilitation Program offers first-rate instruction from leading professionals in the field who are both caring and supportive. All instructors hold advanced degrees in veterinary medicine or physical therapy from highly competitive universities. They are experienced professionals who continue to practice medicine in addition to conducting outside research and publishing related materials. Allow these talented instructors, along with Northeast Seminars, the opportunity to further your career through continuing education programs in canine rehabilitation.

Canine Rehabilitation

Canine Rehab is becoming more popular in veterinary medicine. Canine Rehab is dedicated to the treatment of domesticated dogs. The word dog is a non-scientific term that is believed to have come into use during the 16th century. It is generally associated only with domesticated canines. On the other hand, the term canine is a scientific designation that includes wild and domesticated dogs.
Northeast Seminars offers continuing education in canine rehabilitation through the University of Tennessee Certificate Program in Canine Physical Rehabilitation. The program is ideal for licensed professionals in the field of physical therapy and veterinary medicine. The University of Tennessee Certificate Program in Canine Physical Rehabilitation offers students the chance to learn from talented instructors in an environment that offers the best learning resources and ongoing support.

With the help of Northeast Seminars, expect to supplement your existing knowledge with a quality, specialized education. After completing six levels of education and practical courses, the participant may sit for the certificate examination. If successful, participants will earn the title of Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practioner, or CCRP. We currently have CCRPs throughout the United States and in seven other countries. Individual state practice acts dictate practice of animal rehabilitation and it is pertinent that participants become cognizant of their individual acts.

In our efforts to continue the education of qualified professionals, The University of Tennessee and Northeast Seminars seeks to promote the use of canine rehab within the veterinary industry. It is our hope that veterinarians and pet owners will turn to our qualified graduates for valuable services to greatly improve the lives of their canine friends.
