Darryl Millis earned his D.V.M with Distinction from New York State College of Veterinary Medicine Cornell University after receiving his Bachelors from Cornell and his Masters from the University of Florida. After receiving his D.V.M., Dr. Millis completed a small animal internship and surgery residency at Michigan State University. Presently an Associate Professor of Orthopedic Surgery, Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Tennessee Knoxville, he also serves as the Surgery Section Head, Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences. Dr. Millis is also board certified as a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons.
While fulfilling his duties at the University of Tennessee, Dr. Millis also finds time to serve as a member of the Board of Directors for the Veterinary Orthopedic Society. In addition, he was 2001 Session Chair of the Postoperative Rehabilitation, 11th Annual ACVS Symposium, in Chicago, Il and served as the 2000 Orthopedic Chair for the 10th Annual ACVS Symposium held in Washington, D.C. Dr. Millis has been conducting research since 1985 and has been published in numerous journals including
Veterinary Surgery and the
Journal of the American Veterinary Medical Association.
