Dr. Pratt received a PhD in Anatomy from Temple University School of Medicine and his Physical Therapy education from the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently Professor of Physical Therapy and Anatomy, and Program Director of the advanced programs in Orthopedic Physical Therapy and Hand / Upper Quadrant Rehabilitation at Medical College of Pennsylvania and Hahnemann University. His previous faculty positions were in the Department of Anatomy at Temple University School of Medicine and Mercer University School of Medicine where he also was an associate dean.

He has been active in continuing education and is currently a member of the Current Clinical Concepts team that presents a variety of basic / clinical programs concerning the upper quadrant. Dr. Pratt has received a number of teaching awards; most recently, he was awarded the Dorothy Bathke / Jane Carlin Award of Excellence in teaching by the American Physical Therapy Association, at the World Conference in Washington, D.C. His research publications range from radiation biology to upper quadrant anatomy and biomechanics; his recent review of the anatomy and biomechanics of the shoulder in the Journal of Hand Therapy has been widely cited. Dr. Pratt's book, Clinical Musculoskeletal Anatomy, is a valuable source of basic and clinical information for the practicing clinician as well as beginning students. His first love is his research involving the biomechanics and pathomechanics of carpal tunnel.
