Behavioral Objectives

Unit 1 – Introduction

  • Upon completion the participant will be able to explain the acronyms, “PILL” and “CROCKS” relating to treatment expectations for the patient with cervical dysfunction.

Unit 2 – NAGS and Reverse NAGS

  • Upon completion the participant will be able to recommend a NAG to the cervical spine in a patient with cervical dysfunction.
  • Upon completion the participant will be able to recommend a RNAG to the cervical spine in a patient with cervical dysfunction.

Unit 3 – SNAGS and Self SNAGS

  • Upon completion the participant will be able to design a protocol using a SNAG in the treatment of a patient with painful cervical rotation.
  • Upon completion the participant will be able to adapt a self-SNAG technique for a patient with cervical pain and ROM loss for their HEP.

Unit 4 – FIST Traction and C5-C6/C6-C7 MWM

  • Upon completion the participant will be able to justify the fist traction technique for a patient with painful flexion ROM.
  • Upon completion the participant will be able to recommend a C5-C6 MWM on a patient with cervical pain and loss of ROM.

Unit 5 – Headache SNAGS

  • Upon completion the participant will be able to propose 3 symptoms/conditions warranting a Differential Diagnosis for a patient with headaches.
  • Upon completion the participant will be able to recommend a C2 Repositioning Headache SNAG for a patient with an acute headache.
  • Upon completion the participant will be able to recommend a Reverse headache SNAG for a patient with upper cervical pain/headache.
  • Upon completion the participant will be able to incorporate a self-SNAG technique for a patient with headaches.

Unit 6 – Cervical Traction

  • Upon completion the participant will be able to integrate the use of a Cervical Traction Technique for the upper cervical spine for a patient with a headache.
  • Upon completion the participant will be able to critique a cervical traction technique in the supine position for a patient with a headache.

Unit 7 – Flexion-Rotation Test and C1-C2 SNAGS

  • Upon completion the participant will be able to incorporate the Flexion-Rotation Test in their evaluation of a patient with headaches.
  • Upon completion the participant will be able to develop a protocol using 1 example of a C1-C2 SNAG for a patient with headaches stemming from the C1-C2 level.
  • Upon completion the participant will be able to adapt a Self-SNAG technique for a patient with C1-C2 Cervical Rotation Dysfunction.

Unit 8 – Cervicogenic Dizziness

  • Upon completion the participant will be able to create a protocol using a C2 SNAG for a patient who experiences cervicogenic related dizziness during extension ROM.
  • Upon completion the participant will be able to recommend a rescue maneuver in the event that an overcorrection is made, during any type of cervical Mulligan Technique for a patient that experiences an adverse reaction.
